Shepherds for Seniors
Each month, volunteers visit local grocery stores, purchase specific items, and then visit an elderly individual or couple who live in the Golden Isles. These "shepherds" spend time with their senior adult and get to know their likes, desires, and needs and then help them with accessing the correct resources in Glynn County. Many become long time friends with each other.
The money for the groceries come from donations from churches and individuals who specify that they want their gifts to be used for the Shepherds for Seniors program. Participants are given $50 each month to spend on their seniors.
